There are now more than 23,000 runners from abroad, making up 40 percent of the field. The 26.2-mile running and sightseeing journey begins on one of the world’s most famous streets, Les Champs Elysées. From the foot of the Arc de Triomphe the route heads towards the Place de la Concorde. From the Rue de Rivoli runners sweep through the Place de la Bastille. Then comes a glimpse of greenery in the Bois de Vincennes which has views of Notre Dame and Eiffel Tower before reaching the finish line on the Avenue Foch.
